Introduction to Celeb Papa: Jimmy Lin

Jimmy Lin (林志颖/Lin Zhiying), the Pappy of our cute little Kimi, is one of the top reasons many people were lured to 'Papa, Where are we going?'.

For those who are less familiar with Chinese entertainment, Jimmy Lin is one of the biggest names in Chinese-speaking households all around the world. Belonging to the first generation of idols, his flower boy charmed the hearts of many girls back in the late 90s.

The flower boy hasn't aged at all. It's no wonder
that people call him the "Never-ageing Legacy".

Jimmy Lin was born in Taipei in 1974. He is also the only Taiwanese celebrity to take part in the programme. Scouted during a school performance, he debut at the age of 17 and became an overnight superstar. Not only did he become the youngest singer ever to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum, he also completed a world tour in his first year, earning him the nickname 'Little Whirlwind'.

sang together in episode 3, from his debut album
Jimmy enlisted for the army at the peak of his career in 1994. Although his fame declined a bit upon his return to showbiz, he'd worked very hard to accomplish many things in both his work and private life.

At 22, Jimmy started his own management agency, Jimmy Creative. He began investing in stocks and bought his first Ferrari with the earnings. At 23, he delved into professional car racing. At 26, he set up his own tech company specializing in surveillance and banking. At 32, he opened his own restaurant, The Dream Family Cafe. At 35, he ventured into photography and became a wedding photographer.

In his first year of professional racing, Jimmy encountered a crash
which almost cost him his life, but he never gave up on racing.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Lin had managed the above achievements without losing focus on his showbiz career. He appeared in movies, TV dramas and musicals across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. You might have seen him in one of the following productions.

Jimmy and his wife, former model Kelly Chen, met during a racing event. After five years of courtship, they got engaged in 2008 and gave birth to our little cute Kimi in the following year. In July this year, the couple finally held their wedding ceremony in Phuket, Thailand.

I didn't know who they got for the Chinese version of the show but I love DWAWG so I watched it anyway ( Thank you for the subs by the way!) and lo and behold it's Jimmy Lin who greeted me first. Right there and then I knew I'm going to follow this show... Kimi is such a cutie like his Dad! Fighting PWAWG! ^_^
