Introduction to Celeb Papa: Sean Zhang

Sean Zhang (张亮, Zhang Liang), the papa of Sky, was probably the least well-known of the five when the 'Papa, Where are we going?' started.

Yet his popularity has shot up the most, rising more than tenfold, with the number of fans on his weibo jumping from a 210,000 to a 2,900,000 after merely 4 episodes. He has received the #China'sGoodPapa title, and is currently the top trending keyword on the Chinese internet.

While the average TV audience didn't know much about Sean before the show, many fashionistas have been following him for a long time. He is the No.1 male model in China, and the first ever Chinese model to walk on the Milan Fashion Week runway.

Introduction to Celeb Papa: Jimmy Lin

Jimmy Lin (林志颖/Lin Zhiying), the Pappy of our cute little Kimi, is one of the top reasons many people were lured to 'Papa, Where are we going?'.

For those who are less familiar with Chinese entertainment, Jimmy Lin is one of the biggest names in Chinese-speaking households all around the world. Belonging to the first generation of idols, his flower boy charmed the hearts of many girls back in the late 90s.

The flower boy hasn't aged at all. It's no wonder
that people call him the "Never-ageing Legacy".

Papa, Where are we going (Chinese version of Appa Odiga)

Appa Odiga, also known as "Dad, Where are we going?" is currently the most popular variety TV program in South Korea. China's Hunan TV has recently bought over the license of the program format and filmed it's own remake, "Papa, Where are we going?" (Papa means dad in Chinese). The pioneer episode kicked off in October and the show has been pretty well received ever since.

Like it's Korean brother, "Papa, Where are we going?" features five celebrity fathers and their children going on vacation trips around the country without the children's mothers. The highlights of the show include how the fathers, who are usually busy at work, learn to take care of the children, how the kids interact with one another, and most importantly, how the fathers and kids grow closer to one another as the show progresses.

Our five celebrity fathers come from different fields of the entertainment industry, and the kids have very distinct personalities. They are:

Taiwanese actor/professional race driver Jimmy Lin and his son Kimi

Director Wang Yuelun and his daughter Angela

Actor Guo Tao and his son Rock

Olympic diving gold medalist Tian Liang and his daughter Cindy

International model Sean Zhang and his son Sky
